What are some of the popular ingredients to go along with this bowl of Kway Chap.

1. Braised large pig intestines.

Though tedious but the end result is definitely worth the effort.

2. Braised quailed eggs.

Bring these eggs to a boil. Drain off hot water and soak into cold water for easier peeling of the shells.

Put all the deshelled cooked eggs into the Kway Chap stock and cook over medium heat until the eggs are nicely browned. Drain and set aside.

3. Tofu (beancurd puff)

Cut the beancurd puffs into halves. Add them  into the Kway Chap stock for more flavour.

The key ingredients  for the Kway Chap stock consist of black peppercorns, cinnamon stick, five spice powder, garlic clove,  ginger slices, palm sugar and most importantly superior dark and light soy sauce.
