Love that murky Buah Keluak (Pangium edule) goodness!

These wrinkles dark brown nut with a tar-like flesh is certainly hard to crack.

The creamy content of the seeds are only edible after they have gone through cleansing process.

Buah Keluak seeds from Kepayang Tree are used in Peranakan dishes served with chicken “Ayam Buah Keluak”.

The raw seeds contain cyanide and is deadly poisonous.

Can you find the fruit on the tree?

The fruit shaped like a rugby ball about 15 to 17 cms long and each contain about six to eight seeds.
